This morning, we had the pleasure of sitting down with Ronnie Dravenstatt, a talented poet from the serene mountain town of Idyllwild, California. Ronnie’s story is as moving as the words he writes, and his passion for sharing beauty and truth through poetry was truly inspiring. Over the years, he has written more than 1,000 poems, a remarkable body of work that he is now bringing together in an ambitious new book series. Hearing him speak about this labor of love, it was clear how deeply personal and meaningful his writing is to him. Each piece is a reflection of his life’s ups and downs, and now, through this collection, he’s inviting others to step into his world.
Beyond his poetic achievements, Ronnie opened up to us about his incredible story of recovery. He shared how much he owes to the House of Luke Ministries in Hemet, a place he credits with being a pivotal part of his healing journey. Through their support, and with deep gratitude to Jesus, who Ronnie believes saved his life, he found strength and purpose in a time when hope seemed distant. His faith played a central role in his transformation, and he spoke passionately about how it continues to guide him daily.
