Eric Tracy

Eric Tracy’s life is a remarkable testament to service, adventure, and connection. Growing up in the vibrant Los Angeles area, Eric developed a strong sense of community and curiosity about the world around him. Following this calling, he proudly served six years in the United States Air Force, where he gained invaluable experiences and honed his dedication to teamwork and service.

After his time in the military, Eric moved to Hawaii, where he spent 25 unforgettable years on the island of Oahu. There, he combined his entrepreneurial spirit and love for the islands by founding a successful tour company, which continues to operate and share the beauty of Oahu with visitors from around the world.

In 2022, Eric relocated to Idyllwild, California, drawn by the picturesque mountain town’s charm and the opportunity to be closer to his family. Since arriving, Eric has fully embraced the Idyllwild community. He became an active member of the Idyllwild Rotary Club, contributing his time and energy to numerous local initiatives. Additionally, he shares his technical skills as a camera operator for the Idyllwild Community Church, helping to bring meaningful connections and services to the community.

With his rich life experiences, dedication to service, and commitment to fostering community spirit, Eric Tracy continues to make a lasting impact in Idyllwild and beyond.

JoAnne Monroe is a passionate journalist, entrepreneur, and community advocate who has dedicated her life to fostering connections and giving back to the communities she calls home. Hailing from Texas, JoAnne built an impressive career in journalism, refining her craft and using her voice to spotlight local stories and champion community causes.

Three years ago, JoAnne relocated to the scenic mountain town of Idyllwild, California, bringing her wealth of experience and her unwavering commitment to storytelling with her. Recognizing a need for a dedicated local news outlet, she founded The Star newspaper, a publication devoted to informing, uplifting, and uniting the Idyllwild community. Under JoAnne’s leadership, The Star has become a trusted resource, shining a light on the people, events, and issues that matter most to the area.

JoAnne’s dedication to community service has been a defining aspect of her life. Whether volunteering in Texas or spearheading local initiatives here in Idyllwild, she has always sought to make a positive impact.
