This morning’s podcast was an engaging discussion with Janine Koeneke, a dedicated community member of St. Hugh’s Episcopal Church in Idyllwild. Host Eric and co-host Joanne welcomed Janine to share her experiences, her work in nonprofit fundraising, and the exciting initiatives happening at St. Hugh.

Janine talked about her background as a nonprofit professional specializing in youth-oriented initiatives, STEM education, and grant writing. Now residing in Idyllwild, she extensively contributes to her community from her idyllic cabin alongside her husband, Randy. They became active at St. Hugh’s Episcopal Church due to its welcoming and inclusive atmosphere.

  • Good Friday Service at 12 PM offers a time for reflection.
  • Easter Sunday Service at 10 AM, followed by brunch, welcomes everyone to participate.
  • Upcoming Arbor Day Celebration (April 26th):

  • Free activities for kids, live music, raffles, and a silent auction with prizes such as vacations and local artwork.
  • Nature-themed vendors and educational opportunities.
  • The chance to take free seedlings home and celebrate the importance of trees and nature.

The church hosts numerous community events, including a pride barbecue, blessings of the animals, and it serves as a meeting space for groups like AA and disaster response teams.
